What should I do for daily cleaning

The only maintenance required is regular washing with clean, hot soapy water to remove surface dirt.  If necessary, use a gentle abrasive cleaner such as Jiff or Bar Keepers Friend.  Hi-Macs sinks will benefit from periodical overnight soaking in a mixture of water and a little bleach.

Will food or drink stain Hi-Macs?

Hi-Macs is non-porous and highly resistant to stains.  Although most normal kitchen type substances such as red wine, oils and vinegar will not permanently stain Hi-Macs, it is best to wipe up spills as they occur.

Can hot pans from the cooker be placed on Hi-Macs ?

Hi-Macs can be damaged with excessive heat.  Always use a heat protection pad, hob bars or a Hi-Macs trivet (with rubber feet) for hot cookware.  Never put hot pans directly on a Hi-Macs top or in a Hi-Macs sink.

Can I use Hi-Macs as a cutting surface?

As with any high quality work surface, care should be taken.  We recommend the use of a chopping board to prevent scratches.

The beauty of Hi-Macs is that even after many years of use, your Hi-Macs worktop will still look good.  Most damage can be repaired and the original surface restored.  It provides a long term, renewable and easy-to-work-on sympathetic surface.
